چکیده
Slope disasters often include soil erosion and shallow landslides. These types of slope failure can occur in unsaturated soil. In this study, artificial rainfall is applied to a compacted laboratory investigate the effects intensity, initial moisture content relative compaction on infiltration behavior an subjected infiltration. Soil probes installed were used monitor during experiment. Test results show that saturation at toe was observed be higher than other areas following onset rainfall. Gradually, advanced towards crest, resulting formation wetting band along surface. With increasing duration, progressed further downwards slope. The began crest junction slope, primary cause from high-intensity most significant variable affecting compaction, followed by During experiment, low hydraulic conductivity saturated caused become surface runoff, which minimized impact intensity behavior. Specifically, optimal 90 R.C. only 7.041 × 10-5 cm/sec or 2.53 mm/h, much lower intensities 80 mm/h 160 mm/h. addition, contours facilitated visualization quantification slopes, enabling more detailed analysis experimental results. help understand slopes under conditions aid designing effective stabilization measures prevent minimize risk

Behavior of Unsaturated Layered Soil Columns during Infiltration
This paper presents the laboratory test results of vertical infiltration on two soil columns of finer over coarser soils subject to simulated rainfalls under conditions of no-ponding at the surface and constant head at the bottom. The main objectives were to evaluate the effect of rainfall intensity and duration; and to provide experimental evidence for soil water redistribution and hysteresis....
متن کاملNumerical Simulation of Stability Analyzing for Unsaturated Slope with Rainfall Infiltration
Rainfall infiltration exerts great effect on the stability of soil slopes. Based on the actual rainfall data, saturated-unsaturated seepage theory and the mechanical theory of unsaturated porous media, numerical simulations were conducted to examine the seepage field of saturatedunsaturated slope during rainfall infiltration in this paper. The influence of the coefficient with rainfall duration...
متن کاملSettlement Behavior of Shallow Foundations in Unsaturated Soils under Rainfall
Shallow foundations are often situated on unsaturated zones above the groundwater table. In this study, the influence of rainfall infiltration on the settlement behavior of shallow foundations was investigated using numerical analyses. The numerical solutions were compared with experimental data from in-situ load tests. The relative importance of rainfall intensities and groundwater table posit...

متن کاملEvaluation of Rainfall Infiltration and Compaction Effect on Soil-Geogrid Interaction Behavior
The geogrid-reinforced soil structures play important roles in the reinforcement applications since 1980s. Generally in design of the geogrid-reinforced soil structures, the soil-geogrid interaction behavior is not directly considered. Instead, the interaction strength is represented by the consolidation drained strength of soil commonly. However, neglecting the effect of compaction and suction...
